Bishop's University Strike
10 Jul 07 - The staff at Bishop's University are on strike. Bishop's has an unusual situation, the only one in the country, where staff and faculty are represented by the same union, in different units, and the faculty, although not yet on strike, are out on the picket lines supporting them. On strike, the staff are entitled to strike support by the CAUT Defense Fund (now at $20 million), and on Thursday 5 July, Louise Ripley, once again serving as one of YUFA's representatives on this Board, travelled to Lennoxville to help CAUT bring the million dollar cheque that they once brought to York in 1997. more...
