YUFA Executive Affirms
Support of CAUT Investigatory Committee's Work
28 Jun 05 - Many
YUFA members may have received an e-mail note concerning YUFA's
involvement in the CAUT investigation of York. Although the e-mail
was circulated by someone outside the Association, members should be
assured that YUFA's Executive has unanimously passed the following
motion:
THAT YUFA:
- continue,
without prejudice, to hold the Temporary Use of
University Space grievance in abeyance until the Temporary Use of
University Space Working Group reports and YUFA can evaluate its
report with respect to the grievance;
- undertake a letter to the Employer's Director of Academic Staff
Relations indicating that YUFA is prepared to work jointly toward
resolution of issues raised as a basis for the CAUT inquiry
in various appropriate fora referenced within the Collective
Agreement;
- report progress jointly to the CAUT
investigative team during its working term; and
- refrain from interference with or constraints
on the work of the CAUT inquiry other than as outlined in this
motion.
