There have been a number of queries regarding Stewards’ Council representation with respect to the new Faculty merger (LA&PS). Last April, YUFA issued the following call:

YUFA Executive is seeking up to 5 volunteers to be appointed to the subcommittee that will make recommendations to the YUFA Executive regarding amendments to YUFA's By-laws and possibly to the Constitution that would arise from changes in Stewards’ constituencies as a result of the merger of Atkinson and Arts. At least one volunteer should come from the Faculty of Arts and at least one from Atkinson.

The YUFA Executive appointed members to this subcommittee in the Spring. The members of the Subcommittee are: Ildiko Kovacs (Chair), Suzie Young, David Clipsham, Ben Lowinsky, and Martin Thomas. The YUFA Executive awaits their recommendations. There are also a number of Stewards vacancies located in groups that have not been affected by the merger. A call for nominations for these groups will be going out shortly.

Election procedures for Stewards are outlined in By-law #1. Elections are conducted by YUFA. The By-law does not provide for election conducted by group.
