Base Salary Adjustments Effective 1 May
2011
11 May 11 – Effective
1 May 2011, the Base Salary Adjustments for all eligible
bargaining unit members will be 2.5%, as per Article 25.03 (c) as well
as an additional 0.8172% as per Appendix R for a total increase of
3.3172%.

Stream Proposal
30 Mar 11 –
The
Employer has approached YUFA with a proposal for a new Teaching Stream.
Their proposal will be discussed at Stewards’ Council on 1 April and
then at the Annual General Meeting on 6 April.

Mar 11 –
Teaching workload has been a concern of the membership for many years,
through several iterations of bargaining. The desire to contractually
rebalance teaching and research workload has been a longstanding one. At
the bargaining table in the last round of negotiations, YUFA's proposal
was for a normal teaching load decrease for those units whose normal
teaching load for the Professorial, tenure-stream was greater than 2.0
FCEs; the Employer refused to consider it, citing costs

The YUFA negotiating team in the last round of collective bargaining
achieved considerable gains in terms of conference travel funds for YUFA
members.
