29 May 07 - The YUFA negotiating team in the last round of collective bargaining achieved considerable gains in terms of conference travel funds for YUFA members. Article 19.29(c) of the new Collective Agreement provides a fund for conference travel support of $180,000.00 (increased from $102,525 in 2005). Those funds will be allocated to Deans / Principals / University Librarian on a per capita basis. Thus members should see a significant increase in the support for conference travel available within their Faculty. How Deans / Principals / University Librarian distribute those funds differs across Faculties. But you should be able to access these funds on a fair basis. If you have not yet been informed by your Dean how much conference travel support is available to members of your Faculty under this Article, and how the funds are being distributed, you should inquire.
