19 Aug 09 - I am delighted to announce that early this morning the YUFA Bargaining Team reached a Tentative Settlement with the Employer to renew our Collective Agreement. The YUFA Bargaining Team unanimously recommended the Tentative Settlement to Renew the Collective Agreement to the YUFA Executive.  The Executive will meet as soon as possible to discuss the package and prepare for the upcoming General Membership Meeting (date to be announced).

The Tentative Settlement is the product of an intensive and demanding bargaining process.   Throughout that process, both sides remained committed to working extremely hard to resolve substantial differences. The Tentative Settlement reflects the bargaining priorities transmitted to the Bargaining Team from the Contract Review Committee, as approved by the YUFA Executive, Stewards Council and Membership earlier this year.

On behalf of the YUFA Executive, I would like to express my immense gratitude to all of the members of the YUFA Bargaining Team for their seemingly tireless efforts over the course of the summer on behalf of all YUFA members.  The YUFA Bargaining Team: Brenda Spotton Visano (Chief Negotiator), John Amanatidis, Andrea Davis, Mary Kandiuk (Executive, VP Internal), Richard Leblanc, in addition to Arthur Hilliker (YUFA President, ex officio).
