2006 Membership Questionnaire Coming Soon ...
1 Mar 06 - YUFA members will be receiving a Membership Questionnaire on Bargaining. The Bargaining Priorities Committee is working to produce a report to Executive that will form the basis of the union's bargaining position in the upcoming round of negotiations. The Membership Questionnaire provides one critical point of departure for the creation of this report. The Questionnaire addresses issues such as Quality of Academic Life; Adequate Salary, Compensation and Benefits; Cost of Living; Support for Research; Equity; and Retirement.
The Bargaining Mobilization Committee, in turn, will work through the Stewards' Council to organize local unit and area meetings to discuss these bargaining issues and issues of concern. These meetings will provide a good opportunity not only to explore the issues set out by the Questionnaire, but also to go beyond them.
We urge all members to participate in these upcoming Bargaining Issues Meetings. In the end, this process, and other input from YUFA working groups and individual members, will culminate in the drafting of a package of bargaining proposals which must be ratified by the Stewards' Council and then by the membership as a whole. The union needs your participation in this process.
