Collective Bargaining
23 May 03 - I am delighted to announce that very late last night the YUFA Bargaining Team reached a tentative settlement with the Employer to renew our Collective Agreement. The YUFA Bargaining Team, led by Chief Negotiator Brenda Spotton Visano, unanimously recommended the Tentative Settlement to Renew the Collective Agreement to the YUFA Executive, who met today to discuss the package. The YUFA Executive unanimously recommends the Settlement to YUFA members.
Next week you will receive by mail the complete Settlement. A Membership meeting will be held on June 10 to discuss the package, and voting will follow that meeting and continue on June 11. Details of the meeting location, and location and times of balloting, will be sent with the package, and will be posted on the YUFA web site.
The Settlement reflects the bargaining priorities transmitted to the Bargaining Team from the Bargaining Priorities Subcommittee, as approved by the YUFA Executive, Stewards Council and Membership earlier this year. On behalf of the YUFA Executive, I would like to express my immense gratitude to all of the members of the YUFA Bargaining Team for their seemingly tireless efforts on behalf of all YUFA members. I urge you all to show your support for the Team by voting in favour of the Settlement.
