The University of Toronto Faculty Association is proud to present the 2010 C. B. Macpherson Lecture and invites you to attend.

The speaker is Ronald Deibert and his presentation is entitled "The Battle for Cyberspace Democracy." Ron will be addressing the evolution of cyberspace, from a free and open forum where a kind of public sphere was vibrant to something today where it is under threat from a variety of quarters and at the centre of a geopolitical battle.

Professor Ronald Deibert is the inaugural director of the University of Toronto's Canada Centre for Security Studies and director of the Citizen Lab. He is the author of a number of books, articles, and reports. The recent reports Tracking GhostNet: Investigating a Cyber Espionage Network and Shadows in the Cloud: Investigating Cyber Espionage 2.0 attracted media and government attention around the world.

This year's event will be held at Walter Hall, Edward Johnson Building, Faculty of Music, 80 Queen's Park, on Tuesday, November 16. Doors open at

6:15 p.m. and the lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
