In the Event of a Strike by CUPE 3903 ...

31 Oct 05 - YUFA’s Executive alerts YUFA members to the following:

• At this point, CUPE 3903 could go on strike Thursday, November 3, 2005

• If CUPE 3903 goes on strike, it will be necessary to move YUFA’s office off-campus for the duration

• York's President has indicated in Senate (Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005) that in the event of a CUPE 3903 strike, she would consult Senate Executive and might invoke one or more of the following to cancel all classes (including those taught by members of YUFA):

  • Senate Policy 006,

  • Senate Policy 008,

  • Senate Policy 032, and 

  • The York Act, 1965.

YUFA’s Executive will provide updates to members as information becomes available. Meanwhile, as announced previously, YUFA’s Executive supports CUPE 3903 in its efforts to reach a fair and timely settlement in its current negotiations with the Employer.
