POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION
ELECTION RALLY: Thursday,
September 25, 2003
Dear Toronto-area student leaders and supporters,
Students' unions across Ontario are organising demonstrations on
September 25th - one week before the Ontario election day - to make sure
that post-secondary education issues are front and centre in the debates
during the provincial election. The advantage to holding a demonstration
one week prior the actual day of voting is that we can make a real push
for students to get out and vote.
Ryerson Students' Administrative Council (RyeSAC) is calling on elected
student leaders and other active students from the University of
Toronto, York University, George Brown College, the Ontario College of
Art and Design, Humber College, Centennial College, Seneca College,
other area institutions and area high schools to come to an emergency
Toronto-region Ontario election-action planning meeting. We are also
inviting staff and faculty representatives, as well as high school
teachers, parents and workers, so please be sure to forward this
invitation widely.

Public Education Election Campaign Planning Meeting
Date: Tuesday, September 16, 2003
Time: 5:30 pm
Location: RyeSAC Office, room POD-62
Jorgenson Hall, Ryerson University
_______________________________
Advance polls will be available on September 20, 22, 23, 24, 25, and
26th (although at different times and at different locations), so we
should encourage students and supporters to make sure they vote in
advance if they think they won't have time to vote during the day on
October 2nd.
This is an excellent way to build the profile of post-secondary
education issues in this election, so we need to move right away on
getting this campaign organised.
Please confirm your attendance in advance by calling (416-569-0723 ext.238)
or emailing (president@ryesac.ca).
We hope to see you at the meeting!
