Five Officer nominees await ratification

rev. 3 Nov 03 - Nominations for five of YUFA's eight Officer positions for 2004-06 have been received to date - one each for President, Vice President Internal, Vice President External, Equity Officer, and Communications Officer.

Three positions  - Chief Steward (1), Treasurer and Recording Secretary - remain vacant.

The nominees are now subject to a ballot of the membership. According to YUFA's Officer election rules, a ratification vote must be conducted where there is only one candidate for a position.

Arthur Hilliker, a member in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science, Biology department currently serving as Recording Secretary, stands for President.

In addition to Hilliker, nominees include Mary Kandiuk for Vice-President Internal (Scott Library, Reference Department), Nick Lary, Vice-President External (Arts, Humanities), Narda Razack, Equity Officer (Atkinson, School of Social Work), Jay Rahn, Communications Officer (Atkinson, School of Arts & Letters).
