Did you know?
In December YUFA members voted to create a new University-wide Council, made up of more than 40 democratically-elected representatives - departmental representatives or "stewards" and others.
How it will affect you
Every unit with full-time professors or librarians will be represented on the Council. This includes your unit. Some smaller units are grouped with others, but representative can come from any of the units in the group.
What is this Council?
- It is a forum for York's full-time professors and librarians to discuss issues of concern and recommend collective action to address them
- It helps provide two-way communication between the Executive and the membership
- It supervises the YUFA Executive as it administers the Association
- It will meet 6 to 9 times per year
It's coming at you
You'll soon find in your campus mailbox a notice requesting nominations for the representative / steward from your unit. Please take a couple of minutes to look it over. Once you and other members of your unit nominate one or more colleagues, YUFA will supervise a rightful election or acclamation.
