I would like to announce the first Queer Caucus of the academic year. The meeting will be held in Founders Senior Common Room on Monday 11 November from 12 to 1:30 pm. A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP to YUFA@yorku.ca so that they know how much lunch to order.
We have two main agenda items:
- First, Jody Nyasha Warner, YUFA's Equity Officer, informs us that the Queer Caucus is entitled to a seat on the new Stewards Council. We will need someone to volunteer for this position. If you are interested, but cannot attend the meeting, please let me know.
- Our major agenda item is to go through the YUFA Handbook together and determine if there are any issues missing, or which require improvement. YUFA needs to be informed of outstanding issues that they need to take to bargaining this year.
This would also be a good time to have an update on
the sexuality studies initiative, so it would be good to hear a report
from a core organizer. Any volunteers?
If there are other issues that you would like to have raised, please let me know and I can put them on the agenda (although there is no guarantee that we will be able to address them at this meeting).
