Nominations update ...
Dimock nominated for President
18 Feb - How go YUFA's current nominations? Philosopher Susan
Dimock is ready to provide part of the answer to this big question.
Dimock, currently appointed to a five-month term as YUFA's Vice Chair
Organisation, has been nominated for President for the 2002-2004 term.
YUFA is seeking members to stand for election to its nine Officer
positions, all of which come with substantial release time. Those elected
will be responsible for leading the union for the next two years,
including negotiating a renewal of the collective agreement next year and
smoothing the transition to YUFA's new constitutional structure.
In addition to Dimock, nominees to date include John Bell for Chief
Steward. Bell is a co-chair of YUFA's Contract & Grievance Committee
and a faculty member in the School of Arts & Letters of Atkinson
College.
Rounding out the list of nominations to date are Perry Sadorsky (Schulich)
and Arthur Hilliker (Biology), both for Treasurer. Sadorsky is the
incumbent Treasurer, while Hilliker is a former member of YUFA's Contract
Review Committee and Chair of Biology.
YUFA's Returning Officer is accepting nominations through 28 February. If
you are interested, please contact YUFA at yufa@yorku.ca or
phone 416 736 5236.
