New Vision Care period begins 1st of April

YUFA's Vision Care Plan provides that covered individuals will receive reimbursement for prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses of up to $375 over a specified two year period.

A new two-year period will begin on the 1st of April.

If you plan to buy prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses in the near future and wish to make best use of your benefits dollars, please note:

• if you HAVE NOT made a vision care claim for an expense incurred since 1 April 2000, you should make your purchase before the end of March
• if you HAVE made a vision care claim for $375 or more for an expense incurred since 1 April 2000, if possible you should wait until April before making your purchase
• if you HAVE made a vision care claim for expenses less $375 incurred since 1 April 2000, you should compare the cost of your potential purchase with what is left of your $375 in deciding when to incur the
  expense.

Final note on "benefits periods": Most benefits other than Vision Care work on calendar years.
