AGM and Luncheon draws happy, hungry crowd

It's said that the early bird gets the worm, or, in this case, the smoked salmon, shrimp, and crab.
These delicacies and others disappeared quickly at YUFA's 2002 Annual General Meeting and Luncheon, held the 9th of May in the Faculty Club.

A little business was conducted, too. After last year's minutes were approved, the full room settled in to hear Vice Chair Organisation and President-elect Susan Dimock introduce the incoming Officers and briefly summarise YUFA's year of activities.

The meeting received annual reports from all the outgoing Officers and committee chairs, including:

In the course of the question period, it was discovered that the wrong version of the Equity annual report, including a draft discussion document called "Appendix 1" had been circulated to the members. A version of the report excluding the discussion paper was received unanimously.

Treasurer Sadorsky led a discussion of the budget proposal, which was approved by the membership without amendment.

The annual committee appointments rounded out the meeting:

  • JCOAA: Brenda Spotton Visano, Ellie Perkins, Leslie Sanders, Amy Rossiter.
  • Dispute Resolution Committee: Paul Craven (Co-Chair), Jan Rehner (appointee), Keith Aldridge (appointee).
  • Joint Affirmative Action Committee: Susan Ehrlich, Peggy Warren, Carl James.
  • Sub-committee on Student Electronic Contact: Jay Rahn, Ray Ellenwood.

Helpfully, the meeting expeditiously adjourned. A few last foragers returned to enjoying the prosperity of superior eats.
