Restructuring Update

Significant developments have occurred since our late
August restructuring advisory, including release by the Liberal Studies
Working Group (chaired by Vice President Academic Sheila Embleton and endorsed by
Deans Lenton and Drummond) of a
“Draft Discussion Paper re. Restructuring on the Keele Campus of York
University” and a meeting of the Joint Long Range Planning Committee. To
assist YUFA members with restructuring issues, YUFA is holding an
information session on Thursday, October 5, 2006 from 1:30-3:30 in S167 Ross Building. more...
Restructuring Advisory for YUFA Members
30 Aug 06 - The YUFA caucus of the Long Range Planning subcommittee of
the Joint Committee on the Administration of the Agreement have prepared
this Advisory on Restructuring for YUFA members. It is offered as a set of
practical guidelines to aid in negotiating with Deans and the Vice-President
Academic with respect to restructuring (including transfers, mergers,
etc.). We believe that you will never be in so powerful a position to
negotiate favourable terms for your future as you are in the planning stage
of restructuring, but capitalizing on that position requires significant
preparation.
