Grievance Settled – Credit Toward Sabbatical
for CUPE 3903 Contract Faculty
15 June 04 - It has long been YUFA's interpretation that, under Article
12.31 (c), credit toward sabbatical shall be awarded to all
former contract faculty. When it became known to YUFA that the
Employer had recently been awarding such credit only to
conversions, YUFA grieved this as being a violation of Article 12.31 (c).
YUFA is pleased to inform you that this grievance has
been satisfactorily resolved. On June 10, 2004, YUFA and the Employer
signed the Minutes of Settlement, which specify that, "…
Article 12.31 (c) will apply to all new full-time faculty appointed to a
tenure-stream position who have prior service at York University as CUPE
3903 Unit 2 contract faculty".
