Community Projects Budgets Funding Principles and Criteria

1 Jun 10 - The Committee was not set up to act as a funding agency and does not provide stable grants over the long-term. Now in its sixth-year of operation, YUFA-CP’s focus is on developing our own initiatives, rather than relying on outside funding requests to define our commitments. This year, for example, supporting the Transition Year Program has been a funding priority.

The Committee has a small budget for donations. From $200 to $1500 will be available for selected initiatives, up to a yearly maximum, as determined by YUFA-CP. Funded activities are required to be consistent with YUFA By-law 18 (Funding and Endorsements) and must be community-oriented. These activities can include the development of educational initiatives, community outreach, or advocacy work.

Applicants are asked to complete the Funding Request Form (versions: PDF / Word) and submit same to the YUFA Community Projects c/o YUFA. The Committee meets throughout the year (excluding July and August) to consider proposals as part of its ongoing work. Notice of funding decisions will be provided within one month of the application date. A report describing how the funding was used, with accompanying receipts, must be submitted within three months of receiving the grant.
